Typographic Sci Fi Posters #4: Planet of the Apes.

The fourth and (for now) last of these posters. I may create others in the future, but I want to work on refining these four for now. This last one is, obviously, Planet of the Apes. This time, like in the 2001 poster, the image and the quote are very closely linked, and this is the ominous line which precedes the famous twist ending. Hopefully the statue of liberty image is clear enough in this rendition.

Something I might create…

I have a yearning to create a pixelart of a scientific calculator.

Cthulhu Opera House development.

Sketches of various elements that will be part of a coat-of-arms for an opera house, with an octopus/cthulhu head.

Time and design.

A good design is like wine, or cheese. It needs to age before it reaches any real level of potential. You can’t just hammer it out in a few hours, or even a few days, and expect it to stand the test of time. It needs to appreciate in value.

Like a crystal growing in solution, or a plant, good design has an emergent quality. The best parts crystallize and the ephemera falls away.
