More of that wooden frame model.

Here are a few more pictures of that model I posted recently. I need to seriously improve my model building skills. This is a start, but I still have a lot of practice exercises I would like to try.

One Who Stands Alone Preview.

This is a preview of a larger work. It’s a concept for an outdoor sculpture/art installation thing. More of this to come, obviously.

Work in Progress: Giant Tryptich

This was originally an assignment for my Drawing II class, and while I was satisfied with it, I always wanted to expand upon it in some way. This is the original finished product. I’ll be adding some new touches, though I’m not entirely sure what they will be just yet.

It is a very large triptych, a type of hinged painting or art object from the middle ages.

I added a few twists on it. The whole thing has a series of narratives that have a sci-fi/fantasy element, most of which involves the multiverse, m-theory, and large spacefaring organisms, as well as unusual stellar phenomenon.

One image, obviously, is supposed to look like an old keyhole. A few of them are maps. Fictional alien writing can be seen in some of the various images. When this is finished, each image will be described in more detail. The empty spot is where a specific drawing used to be, but it fell off and needs to be reattached.

Furniture doodles part 1 and a sketchup model.

Okay, obviously I am not the best with Sketchup, but I include it here for the sake of completion, and for feedback should anyone wish to give it. This is just a decorative, semi-functional outdoor bench design. I did the rough sketch first, then created a simple model in sketchup, and included those images so you have a better idea of the actual dimensions and shape of this thing.

Obviously this would not be the most comfortable bench for long term use, but as I said, this is meant to be decorative as much as it is functional. The actual sketchup model below is a bit longer, and more narrow, than this drawing. The bevel/slope on the segments is just to give it a more pleasing sense of shape.

I may update the model to add the detailing seen on the legs. This was just meant to give a general impression of the shape and size of the bench, as opposed to anything extremely detailed. No texture is suggested, but if this were actually made, I would envision it as being made primarily of steel and concrete, and colored similarly to whatever it’s structural surroundings are.
